We had a fun filled vacation in Maggie Valley, NC. The boys are at great ages where they like exploring new places.
We had to check out the view before we did anything else. We sat on the porch a lot!
I mean...who would get tired of this view?
It's always changing and the sunsets are so pretty!
This was my favorite spot. I could feel the breeze from the front of the house.
I've learned to take a pencil pouch with crayons and coloring sheets to restaurants. It's been a life saver!
Who knew a deck of cards would be so entertaining. All the boys had fun playing go fish and Michael taught Jackson how to play poker. Haha!!
Boom and Jackson found the brightest spot to play checkers.
Saturday morning we stumbled on a parade in Waynesville. It was the FolkMoot (I don't even know what that is) festival and each group were from a different country. They did native dances and it was so neat!
We saw the last few groups and they were amazing. Several members of this group were wearing wooden shoes! Holy blisters!! I know their feet were killing them at the end of the parade.
The store behind Jackson was the only reason they wanted to go to Waynesville. It's the Mast General Store and they have a huge selection of candy.
It's a must to get a picture with the huge statues.
Miles had to look for the pop guns and proceeded to play with them.
We found a hole in the wall used bookstore and it was neat. Stinky but neat.
I heard Michael talking to some one and it was the owner of the house we were renting. It turns out he owns the house next to it and has been doing the final touches so he can sell it. The price is $2.4 million. We wanted a tour and Brad was super nice and showed us around. Our jaws dropped the minute we walked in and stayed that way! So many little details and all of them were just amazing. This wall is made of tree bark. It's the stairs going up and down. There's several accents of the bark throughout the house.
Like in this bathroom. I wish I would have gotten more pictures but I didn't want to look too crazy. The kitchen was my favorite spot! It was so big and airy!
And this master tub...I wanted to jump in and get a bath! We were so thankful Brad took us around and showed us all 4 floors! The bottom floor was a media room with 8 or so recliners and a HUGE flat screen. I had to thank him again the next day when we saw him. He was super nice.
Here's my porch picture for this Sunday. Brad told us about the door after I said how awesome it looks. It's from New Mexico or Nevada or somewhere like that and it was $10,000. I was scared to open it after that! It really made a statement!
After our Sunday porch picture we headed to...
We first ate at Clyde's last year. For those who do not know my dad's name is Clyde. He passed away almost 4 years ago. So this is a special place to take my kids and it's a place that my dad would have loved. :)
Part 2 will be posted soon!
