Friday Favorites

Hello Friends! I haven't participated in Friday favorites in a while so I have a random assortment of favs this go around!

Jackson's school had 'take your child to work day' so he went to work with Michael. I guess he didn't want to see what kind of work a stay at home mom does each day. He said work was okay but kinda boring. Ha! At least he got to eat Mexican for lunch. That makes it better.

I was sick towards the end of last month so I decided to try a bath with epsom salt and my essential oils. I can't say this made me feel 100 percent better but it didn't hurt at all! And it smelled so good.

I can say I watched the State of the Union and lost it when Rush Limbaugh received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. I also cried when the soldier came home, when Trump talked about the NICU (and late term abortions) and when he talked about Kayla Mueller being captured in Syria. Goodness. It was something.

WINSHAPE
Our church is hosting WinShape camp this summer and we are super excited. This is something new for us and it way bigger than they originally thought. But everyone is ready to help in any way.

I honestly think this past Sunday was the first time I've worn a tie dyed shirt. Haha! Last Friday night we dyed shirts at church and had a taco bar. It was great night hanging out with our friends. And just to let everyone know Carter did mine and it's awesome!

The boys did a great job with their shirts. Jackson didn't make the Sunday porch picture because he was at a friends house. He was with us Friday night and he has a shirt as well!

The weather here has been bonkers! It rains for a few days, then it is cold a day or two and then it's nice, sunny and in the high 60s. It was so peaceful sitting on my porch reading my devotions and listening to my Corinthian Wind Chimes. Gosh they are pricy but I LOVE them.

I started following Amber Massey a while back on Instagram. She did a story on her rugs from Boutique Rugs. Since she has a lot of kids and 2 dogs the rugs must be good. So I've ordered this one for my dining room. Most of my rugs are dark so I'm hoping this one looks okay when I get it. My fingers are crossed because I think this rug is pretty!

Here's my last favorite for today. I normally do not post stuff like this but I had to today. I had my hair done this week and I LOVE it! My girl did such a good job. I can promise it will not look like this when I try to curl it so I had to document it! Haha!!

Hello Monday - BOOKS!

Hello Monday...I'm sharing what I read in January.

Why not start 2020 with a good mystery? The Turn of the Key was the perfect way to start the new year. A book about a live-in nanny, a creepy old house, strange kids and LOTS of twists and turns I didn't see coming. It was a really good book!

I read lots of good reviews for The MIL and they did not disappoint! This was a really good thriller and it kept me guessing about what really happened.

Another mystery/suspense/thriller? Yes, please! The Better Sister had me trying to figure out who did what the entire time. I mean it's strange for a woman to marry her sister's ex husband and that's probably not the craziest part. This book kept me on my toes. It was a good one!

My library didn't have this book so I had to request it from another branch. The older lady snickered at the title and said it was a strange name. It was too funny. Okay. This book was good but not great. A group professors (only 1 girl and 4 or so guys) hanging out trying to find dates for a certain event. They all decide to use an online dating site. It matches the girl to one of the guys. That sums it up in a nutshell.

I downloaded finding Perfect on my Kindle because it was free. I didn't realize is was a novella. Apparently I didn't look to close since it's written at the top. Duh! Well it was a sweet little story wrap up Finding Cinderella.

My sister in law gave me this devotion book for Christmas and it's been really good!

Several bloggers shared this as well last year. Well, I fell off the wagon and didn't catch up with my reading. I'm including this in my book review to hold myself accountable! I've read each day for January. Woo Hoo! Now I'll conquer February.
