February Books

SIX!
That's how many books I read this month. I didn't realize it until I started this post. WOW! I was on a roll this month.

The Real Deal by Lauren Blakely

This was a very entertaining book with fun characters. Super cute! A boyfriend from Craigslist? Sure, why not.

All Summer Long by Susan Mallery

This was a fairly good book. The tom boy firefighter who was traumatized as a teenager falls for the pretty boy underwear model.

Good Girls Lie by J.T. Ellison

I never thought I would love psychological thrillers but oh my word. This book was AMAZING! It kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what happened. It's based at an all girls boarding school with lots of twists and turns.

My Unexpected Forever by Heidi McLaughlin

This book was good. Very enjoyable but it was not one of my favorites. Katelyn lost her husband and is struggling with life. She is the manager for a band who happens to have an attraction to the tattooed drummer. According to her she shouldn't like a guy with tattoos because that's the complete opposite of her late husband.

Lock Every Door by Riley Sager

Strange. Not believable. Awkward. These all describe this book. You get paid big bucks to 'apartment sit' in a high profile building. But with this job comes lots of crazy rules you must follow. Oddly enough I did enjoy it.

Well Met by Jen DeLuca

I didn't know I would love a rom com centered around a Renaissance Faire but holy moly. This was super cute! Well Met will make a person fall in love with reading.

Finding my Forever by Heidi McLaughlin

This was a series and I read them out of order. Any way, this one was fairly good. This was about another band member who loved all the ladies until one caught his eye and his heart. Cute read.

And I can say this again for February. I read my bible each day and my daily devotion! WOOHOO!!

Thanks for the fun link up, Ladies!!

Hello Monday - BOOKS!

Hello Monday...I'm sharing what I read in January.

Why not start 2020 with a good mystery? The Turn of the Key was the perfect way to start the new year. A book about a live-in nanny, a creepy old house, strange kids and LOTS of twists and turns I didn't see coming. It was a really good book!

I read lots of good reviews for The MIL and they did not disappoint! This was a really good thriller and it kept me guessing about what really happened.

Another mystery/suspense/thriller? Yes, please! The Better Sister had me trying to figure out who did what the entire time. I mean it's strange for a woman to marry her sister's ex husband and that's probably not the craziest part. This book kept me on my toes. It was a good one!

My library didn't have this book so I had to request it from another branch. The older lady snickered at the title and said it was a strange name. It was too funny. Okay. This book was good but not great. A group professors (only 1 girl and 4 or so guys) hanging out trying to find dates for a certain event. They all decide to use an online dating site. It matches the girl to one of the guys. That sums it up in a nutshell.

I downloaded finding Perfect on my Kindle because it was free. I didn't realize is was a novella. Apparently I didn't look to close since it's written at the top. Duh! Well it was a sweet little story wrap up Finding Cinderella.

My sister in law gave me this devotion book for Christmas and it's been really good!

Several bloggers shared this as well last year. Well, I fell off the wagon and didn't catch up with my reading. I'm including this in my book review to hold myself accountable! I've read each day for January. Woo Hoo! Now I'll conquer February.

Hello Monday Vacation Part 1

This past week we had our first vacation of the summer. The beach was FUN! We were in Murrells Inlet, SC and we rented an ocean front house in a gated community. It was rainy several days but we still managed to have a blast.

All five of us in our first new car selfie! We went through Georgetown and stopped for lunch before heading to the grocery store and to get the keys to the house.

Sunday afternoon was spent on the beach even though it was overcast and a little rainy. And guess who didn't put on sunscreen and got a little burnt? ME! I'm still sporting a tank top tan line after a week of trying to even it out.

Michael took a big kite and the boys had fun flying it. Why does Jackson look so grown here?

I guess he was tired of standing up watching the kite.

And the NEATEST thing...there were 4 sea turtle nests right down from our house.

We could get used to a pool in our back yard. The boys had the best time swimming.

We made our way to Krispy Kreme and it was delicious. I think we ate 5 1/2 dozen doughnuts while we were there. I will say there were 7 of us it that makes it any better. Haha!!

They were super excited to head out shopping. Not really but we were going to Dave and Buster's so they were fine!

Out of the blue Jackson said he wanted to ride a helicopter. So we did. Well Jackson, Pop and I went on a little ride. It was pretty cool.

The pilot was awesome with Jackson and talked about what all we were doing. Our only complaint was it was a short ride.

This section of the beach is perfect! Our boys can run and be loud and NOT bother any one.

Part 2 coming up soon...
