Surgeries

Miles and Carter had their tonsils and adenoids taken out on August 14. They were all happy before the surgery while they were waiting. The hospital staff were great with the boys (and us). They did great with the surgery but it took a lot to get the to drink afterwards. We had to wait until both boys tinkled before we could leave and we have stubborn boys. Close to the 4 hour mark (that's when they call the doctor back in) Miles decided he would go.

Miles played with his bracelet and then he played with the leapster until it was his turn to ride back to the OR.

Carter played with the gloves.
Michael was with Carter in one holding area and I was with Miles next door. I was able to stick my head back and forth so I got to hug C before he went back. He went first.

Here is Miles once we got to the second recovery area. The first one was just for 30 minutes until they woke up from surgery.

Carter wasn't a happy camper waking up. The nurses gave him medicine to help with the pain.

This is how they ended up when we got home. They took Tylenol with Codeine every 4 hours for several days! These boys were in lots of pain!

They got to start eating gummies the next day. It took a lot of effort to get them to drink.

Poor C had a high fever but luckily we got it down and it didn't spike again.
It took right at 2 weeks for them to start feeling better. Hopefully they will be healthier now that the tonsils and adenoids are gone!

August iPhone Pictures

August was a busy month!

Ninja Turtles were out and about in our house.

This is one of the 2 pictures I took at Chuck E Cheese. The boys had a blast. The adults no so much.

I left the boys alone for a few minutes. They said they made a swimming pool.

They raced down the drive way.

We had to pet sit Fudgey. She's a guinea pig.

And the same afternoon Ms. Mary brought her new puppy over to see us. It's Chloe the Yorkie.

School Supplies for 3 boys.

Popping bubbles.

J lost another tooth.

Carter likes to find new places to play.

Jackson's new lunch box.

This is how I am going to survive 2 tonsillectomies and adenoidectomies.

Jackson and his friend, Joshua, at the skating rink.

Poor Carter didn't know what he wanted to drink. This is a couple of days after his surgery.

I think Miles is sleepy!

Miles sipping on some juice.

They finally feel like playing a little.

Coffee = GOOD.

Visiting dad's office after the first day of school!

This kept them busy for a long time. Who knows how much paper we wasted!

Carter was making letters.

This is how Miles watched tv.

They are starting to feel better after a week!

Let the car line waiting start!

I'm not sure why Miles wanted to sit on the pillow on the stool.

Ninja Turtle siting.

Home work time. That night he woke up with a nasty stomach bug!

Miles was fast asleep in the most uncomfortable position.

J recuperating from his bug.

Carter is feeling better.

Finger painting.

The first night of writing 10 sentences. It's not fun. At all. We went through half a box of Kleenex and there were tear stains on his paper. Hopefully it will get better!

We adopted 2 puppies.

All 5 boys playing!

Meet Duke and Gus.

This is the day after surgery. These two were pitiful.

Miles said he had to throw up so he went and got this bowl. He didn't by the way.

First Day of 3K for M and C

Miles and Carter missed the first week of school because they were still recovering from tonsillectomies and adenoidectomies. They were so happy to start school!
