Friday Favorites

I love reading book reviews finding new ones to read! It's a favorite!

Spring is in the air - at least it is this week.
I love finding new essential oils to use. It's a favorite!
 (I found these on Pinterest)

Since I love caramel lattes I had to try this. It kinda comes out like whip cream and it's tasty!  It's a new favorite.

This is a white almond bush. My neighbor started this one from one in her yard. This baby will be planted in our yard soon. It's a favorite!

#imomsohard is so stinkin funny!
What made it so funny is I LOVE Vick's. It's a favorite.

Carpool Book Club

I'm linking up with Narci at Grace and Love today for Carpool Book Club. I love getting ideas for new reads.

The Woman in Cabin 10 was a good book. It was completely different from what I normally read. I can promise you I will not be going on a cruise any time soon!

The Hating Game was hands down the best book I've read. It was such a fun read. I can't wait for Sally Thorne's new book to be released.

I have not been a big fan of Elin Hilderbrand (GASP!) but the Winter series might have change my mind about her. This has been a good series and I'm on the last book.

KIDS BOOKS

Since Narci is talking about kid books I'll share what we have been reading with our boys. Jackson is 9 and loves to read. He read a lot of the Magic Tree Books and is kinda in the middle of what type of books to read next.

He has read all of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and loved them. We are searching for some new books that he will be interested in. We have Harry Potter but that is a little much for him right now.

Miles and Carter just turned 6 and are learning to read. They are doing awesome! I hope they love to read as much as Jackson (and me).

This is a little box set of first reader books and it is great. I'm just super tired of listening to Paw Patrol! :)

Miles and I went to the library and picked out some new books for them to read.

I remember Jackson reading Henry and Mudge as well as Frog and Toad. The boys have not read this one yet because we started with...

Little Critters.
This is a cute little book and it has activities to help with reading comprehension. I'll be getting more of these from the library for the boys. The best part about this book is THEY CAN READ IT! I help with some of the words but they do a great job.

What's Up Wednesday

WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK...

I baked sugar cookies this past weekend and they were so good! They are my favorite cookies.

Michael found a recipe for Irish Soda Bread and wanted to try it. I had to search pinterest for a different recipe because I didn't want to use currants. So I found one with raisins. :)

I also cooked pork chops and meatloaf patties (it's meatloaf I just patted out burgers instead of a big loaf). I'm cooking spaghetti and a roast the other days.

WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT...

Chasing Jackson around with the Lysol last week when he had the flu! It wasn't fun but he was the only one who had it! My fingers are still crossed the rest of us are in the clear.

This boy was SICK! He has never crawled on the table and slept until the doctor came in.

WHAT I'M LOVING...

This weather! The poor ground hog was confused this year! I'm loving these 70 degree winter days. The boys have played outside so much the past few days.

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO...
Playing outside. I could post 1000 pictures of the boys riding bikes, blowing bubbles and throwing the football around.

WHAT I'M DREADING...
I can't think of a thing I'm dreading. :)

WHAT I'M WORKING ON...
I changed out my curtains and my quilt in our bedroom. With this great weather I was ready for lighter and brighter.

I think it's brighter! Good by fall colors.

WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT...
We are hosting Miles and Carter's 5k Easter Egg Hunt at our house this year. It is going to be fun with 8 5k kids running around our yard. I'm hoping Michael can built this...
for the kids to play.

Speaking of building...
I'm glad Michael likes to build things. We are trying to decide which farmhouse style table we like for our dining room.

This is very similar to what we have on our screened in porch. We love it but I'm not sure if I want the same table in our dining room.

I'm thinking I like this...
so I can have a chair at each end.

Our dining room is small so the only furniture will be a table and a small buffet.
I like the simple lines of this one. It would be stained to match the table.

We are also thinking about what we want to plant in our little garden. Right now we have asparagus coming in. It's hard to decide what to plant!.

WHAT I'M WATCHING/READING...
I have not been watching much of anything. HGTV and the Food Network. I read more than I watch TV. I'm linking up with Narci for the Carpool Book Club so my books will be there.

WHAT I'M LISTENING TO...
I have the boys loving Bon Jovi. They really like singing You Give Love A Bad Name. :)

WHAT I'M WEARING...
I actually wore leggings and a tunic several days! What!! Yep. I'm shocked as well.

WHAT I'M DOING THIS WEEKEND...
I'm 99.9% sure we will be outside playing ALL weekend. It's supposed to be 78 Saturday. We may eat lunch on the porch.

WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH...
Our 11th anniversary is next month as well as soccer evaluations for all 3 boys.

WHAT ELSE IS NEW...
The count down is on for Spring Break! Not that we are doing anything exciting but it's always fun to hang out with the boys for a week. We will find some fun things to do.

Friday Favorites

It's always fun waiting at a doctor's office....said no mother ever!

It started Thursday morning with a follow up for Carter. His allergies are still acting up but he is better.
I didn't get a picture of me and mom at her eye doctor appointment. It's always super crowded in that office and you see some interesting people. Thanks goodness I take a book to read.

Friday afternoon is was Jackson's turn for his sinus junk. To him it seemed like forever but it wasn't too bad. And he saw his favorite doctor!

Then Wednesday afternoon it was a follow up with the ENT for Jackson's nose bleeds. It's usually a LONG wait but luckily this time it only took up 1 1/2 hours. We saw the nurse practitioner and she was super nice. And a bonus is they just moved to a new office. It was sleek and modern but not too modern.

I love shoe shopping...even for the boys!

Jackson really wanted Under Armour shoes. He has 2 pair of them right now that he rotates and both are worn slap out! We bought them November 1 (thanks to instagram). Do kids shoes not last long any more? Or is it just Under Armour?
So...we got these shoes at Goody's. It's one of two places in town that have boy shoes. And they were $20! That's right...$20 for Nike's. They have a size larger that I might go back and get. Because a good sale is definitely a FAVORITE!

The weather right now is one of my favs!! We have played outside everyday this week.

Miles has been loving his bike.

Jackson found one of the Nerf bow and arrow's and everyone has been shot by it. You better watch out when you are in our yard!

And Carter has a love/hate relationship with his bike. He likes to ride but wants to ride as well as Jackson. He doesn't understand he has to practice!

Books are always a favorite to me!

This was a good book. It took me forever to read it but oh my!

One of these books will be my next read. I'm not sure yet!

Valentine Cards are so much fun to make! I let the boys help me decide on what little trinket we give. I really wanted to do whoppie cushions but I thought that was a little much for a church preschool. So we are going with bouncy balls and puzzles. Now I have to print them so Miles and Carter can write the names on them. I have a feeling this is going to be like pulling teeth! That's why we are doing them early (maybe a few each day). Thank goodness their class only has 8 kids!

This and That

I really meant to post our weekly pictures a few weeks ago and totally forgot! I'm going to play catch up and I hope I stay caught up!

Miles was ready to head back to school!

It's always fun shoe shopping with these two!

There's a new sign on College Avenue. I'm not sure why we need it but at least it looks pretty!

The boys loved their first trip to Creama - a local coffee shop. I needed caffeine!

And then they made a new friend in the car line.

We celebrated Miles and Carter's 6th birthday!

The boys playing in what little bit of snow we had on their birthday! It took me longer to get them dressed than we played outside.

Legos galore around our house.

And a little Yeti in my spaghetti.

Carter had the first trip to the doctor for sinus junk and we prayed it didn't turn into bronchitis.

Um. I have no description for this. They were playing something.

I could post 1000 pictures of the boys riding bikes. We've done that a lot this month.

See. Carter has been practicing.

We took a trip to the mall. We hit up the book store and Chick fil a.

They worked on sentences before school.

We have read and read and read. Both little ones are reading fairly well. I'm super proud of them.

The weather was so nice we read outside a couple of days.

'
We were excited to watch Trump take the oath. We watched it on Facebook live in the car while parked in the garage. Haha!

I'm addicted to words with friends again.

We had some down time and played on the tablets.

Carter and I had fun waiting for his follow up appointment.

Jackson had fun waiting at the doctor as well. He also had the sinus junk.

For once they were nice to each other and wanted to watch the same thing on television.

My mom and I had  three cute dates for supper at Wendy's. Michael was home with a stomach bug.

And Carter is finally getting better with his bike. He learned how to start on his own and stop without jumping off the bike!

What a fun January!
