Everyday Life Week 43

October 22 - October 28

There was a little bit of wind Saturday so the boys decided to fly their kites while Micheal and I worked in the flower beds.

After all day outside this boy was pooped! He decided to swing a while and read.

My mom made this treats for us all the time. Michael calls them redneck smores. I call thes delicious! It's a saltine with peanut butter and a marshmallow. You toast it in the oven until the marshmallow gets brown. Jackson has fallen in love as well!

While J does homework these two usually play in their room. I love watching them create tracks with marble run.

After dinner you can always find my boys outside riding bikes or throwing the football.

Carter did his homework without squirming. I was so proud of him.

Thursday we went to McArthur Farms with M and C's class. It was a fun field trip. I'll post more pictures about that soon.

My little bag boy. He was so excited to bag some of our groceries.

And they helped me pick out rugs. I spotted one I really liked but it didn't work out in my room. But I did get new ones and I love them.

Everyday Life Week 42

October 15 - October 21

Learning to ride a bike isn't always easy.

Sunday porch picture.

Miles and Carter had to decorate a pumpkin for school.

Carter has learned to blow a bubble. He is super excited!

This stubborn boy took 1 hour to eat 5 bites of stew beef. I was going to win no matter how long it took him. He was going to eat.

These boys have so much fun riding their bikes.

They do it about every night.

Flu shot time! The boys did great this year. It's too bad they say the Flu Mist doesn't work any more. Nose spray is always better than a shot.

We had fun at our first fall festival. We played all types of fun games!

It's show and tell day at school.

We golf in our bike helmets. Safety first! Haha!

Everyday Life Week 41

October 8 - October 14

It was a rainy dreary day in Waynesville but that surely beat a hurricane at home! We all had fun walking around looking at all of the neat crafts.

This is my favorite spot going down the mountain. I want a house with this view.

Since there was no school Monday the boys started the clean up process. Luckily for us we only had a few limbs and leaves to rake up. There is a perk to having no big trees in our yard!

Since we didn't have power we had to do cupcakes a day late for my dad's birthday. I'm sure he would not have minded us celebrating a day late!

I caught them running from our neighbor's yard. Thank goodness they do not mind the boys running in their yards!

We tried to do lots of different things while the boys were out of school (or a whole week). Side walk chalk was fun for a while. And Miles had to practice writing his name.

This was the first attempt. Haha!! A week of no school and he forgets.

We went to Big Lots and found J a new friend.

Berri Lane was yummy.

We found a deal on BIG  coloring books.

We walked thru Hobby Lobby and C had to admire himself in each mirror.

And C figured out how to get a sip of water after playing outside.

Everyday Life Week 40

October 1 - October 7

Besides riding their bikes and hitting golf balls, the boys like throwing the football. Jackson and I are getting really good! Haha!

Sunday porch picture.

Sunday was also Turner's birthday party at The Little Gym. My boys had a blast! Carter was my first boy on this thing. Who knows what you call it!

J was almost too big but he still had fun playing and he was a trooper with all of the little kids.

Miles loved all of it too!

The big air mattress was so much fun for all of the kids.

After the party we went to the Cracker Barrel. My boys LOVE it!

Miles had a staring contest with my mom and he lost! He wasn't too happy about losing but he looked cute playing.

More bike riding.

I sure hope they smiled a little bit better for picture day at school than they did for me.

Hurricane Matthew's predictions. With all of the talk we didn't know where this hurricane was going.

It was a bright sunny day in the mountains!

Thursday morning was pretty too!

And Friday morning looked like this. It was so foggy and so pretty!

What's Up Wednesday

Monday night we had...

and Miles was super excited. He is my pizza boy!

The rest of the week I'm cooking. We had a turkey breast from Sam's last night and it was delicious. I made stuffing and veggies to go with it. It will  be fresh veggies and leftover turkey for today and maybe more tomorrow night!

How lucky we were with Hurricane Matthew and our trip to the mountains.

This is Wal-Mart after they lost power. It looks eerie! There were so many people without power for several days and our town looked like a war zone. We had tons of trees down and that means tons of power lines down. Thanks to all of the line men who worked long hours to get everyone up and running again.

This is at the top of the drive way at the mountain house. It was a HIKE to get up there. We all had such a fun time. I'm  ready to go back. I'll post the rest of the mountain pictures soon.

The WEATHER! It's been on the cooler side since the hurricane and it's been wonderful!

Getting ready for Halloween. I'm already sick of candy and we have only been to one fall festival. We have our church's trunk or treat Sunday night and then we will have our neighborhood trick or treating Monday night. It's always so much fun to see all of the kids dressed up.

Lakeview Club had the Mad Scientist at their fall festival showing some neat stuff. The dry ice was fun to watch and then the boys made slime.

The boys enjoyed their corn dogs while we had Boston Butt Bog. It was tasty.

The main attraction was the Game Truck. All of the kids were in hog heaven with this. It held 20 something kids inside and had 5 or 6 different game consoles. There were 2 on the outside my boys played.

Here's my Green Lantern and my ninjas. We confused most workers with two ninjas. They didn't pay attention to the blue and the red. They thought were kept doing 2 of everything.

No much at all.

Deep cleaning the house.

This is so true! I always think my house is a mess but I'll watch 1 minute of hoarders and I see that my house is really clean.

I'm sure Michael has said this to me...several times.

Amen. 3 boys are messy.

The holiday season! Bring on Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas!
And...our trip to the Great Wolf Lodge.

I have not been watching much recently. I've watched some Dancing with the Stars and The Voice. The Bachelor Show - Ben and Lauren hasn't been all that great.

I've ready several good books. Colleen Hoover is still one of my favorite authors and I've started reading more Robyn Carr. I still love a Jill Shalvis book at well. Currently I'm ready a Christie Ridgway book and it isn't that great.

Usually whatever the boys are watching on TV or when they are at school it's nice to have the house quiet!

It's yoga pant and legging season!!

Haha! I love this. I have no idea what we are doing this weekend. We have church Sunday and the truck or treat. That's going to be fun!

Not much!

Bonus Question:
What's your favorite Halloween tradition?

The Halloween parade on our street.

When we first moved in our house 10 years ago our neighbors warned us about Halloween and the amount of people that would come down our street. Back then it was just for the kids on our street but now half of the town shows up. All of the houses who want to participate set up card tables near the road and hand out candy instead of everyone ringing door bells. All of the kids walk up and down the street trick or treating and everyone has a blast! Even the adults!
