What's Up Wednesday

What we're eating this week...
I love asking my boys what they want for supper. I always get pizza from Miles, rice from Carter and Jackson always comes up with what I cook. I'm training them for when their wives ask what they want to eat. :) Jackson wanted...

And it's tasty!!

Oven baked ranch chicken tenders was another tasty find.

I love soups and chili in the fall. Now if the weather will get a little cooler I'll be happy!
I was searching Pinterest for soups and found this collection of recipes

I made the slow cooker chili and it was wonderful!! I'll be trying several other soups this fall as well.

What I'm reminiscing about...
The past 6 years! It's still strange having all 3 boys at the same school all day. I'm so used to preschool getting out at noon. I picked up at the the same preschool for 8 years. So this picking everyone up at 2:30 is the best!

The first time all 3 went to school together. Miles and Carter were in 2k and Jackson was in 5k.

And here is this school year...Miles and Carter is in 1st grade and Jackson is in 4th.

What I'm loving...
Everything!!

What we've been up to...
Getting the hang of our school routine and homework.

What I'm dreading...
I really need to start deep cleaning the house. I have so much to do I don't know where to start. So I just read or watch YouTube. Hahaha!!

What I'm working on...
Deep cleaning the house. Thanks to some blogs I read I'm about ready to empty everything in our kitchen cabinets to sort and clean.

What I'm excited about...
The FALL! Cooler weather. AND...our mountain trip coming up.
Who wouldn't want to stay here??

What I'm watching/reading...
I've kinda watched some Big Brother. I mostly caught the YouTube videos. And I love Dancing with the Stars. I'm addicted to Dr. Pimple Popper on You Tube. It's nasty but oh so fun to watch!

I've been reading A LOT! I'll post my books tomorrow with Narci.

What I'm listening to...
We still love the Kidz Bop and I have fallen in love with Sam Hunt.

What I'm wearing...
It's almost time for black yoga pant season to start! I've ordered a new pair of Matilda Jane pants and I can't wait to get them. I still love my ruffle pants. And I'm sure this fall I'll be wearing leggings and tunics.

What I'm doing this weekend...
Saturday evening we are going to meet a new youth pastor our church is interviewed and go out to eat. Sunday we have church and we are going to my nephew's birthday party.

What I'm looking forward to next month...
Ummm...the mountians.
This is the porch and I can't wait to sit out there and read with my coffee!

And we are going to visit Biltmore again. The last time we were there it was beyond hot so we are hoping it will be cool this time.

What else is new...
Not too much!

this and that for August

August started out school supply shopping. I think the boys enjoyed picking out all of their stuff!

We went to the library for AR test and to check out some books. I'm glad my boys like to read!

The boys were playing outside and I told Carter he needed shoes on to ride his bike. These are the shoes he tried to wear.

Nothing stops Miles from getting his snack out of the cabinet!

We had to stop by our local bookstore, Burry, to pick up a quick gift.

Friends came over to play!

We had to build Lego's.

Jackson helped Lane with his puzzle.

We rode bikes. A lot!!

Popsicles on the porch!

More friends came over to play! I love a house full of boys!

Berri Lane with some friends.

Go cart riding.

Carter and Jackson had to smell my essential oils to see which ones they liked.

We met all 3 teachers.

Jackson spent the day with a friend so my mom and I took to other two out to eat and to the bookstore.

We stopped by my brothers house and played with his new puppy!

A little more swimming when it wasn't too hot!

We had a good first day of school.

All 3 piled on my bed to watch television.

We were able to watch the solar eclipse.

We did our daily reading.

And homework began.

Jackson was the art student for his class. His art teacher is new to his school and goes to church with us!

More bike riding with dad.

We let Jackson ride his go cart to Boom and Pop's house. He had a BLAST!! We were on the golf cart in front of him.

Carter pulled his tooth at church. Or he says he twisted it out. Haha!!

We had another friend come home from school with us. The boys had fun playing with their buddy J!

These two love riding their bikes on the road. We are always out with them while they are on the road. I do not trust them or the crazy people flying down our street!

What We're Reading Wednesday

Me. All.The.Time.

I read 4 books in August and most were good. :)

Kiss Me If You Can
Carly Phillips
I've read several books by Carly Phillips and I've liked all of them. This one was alright. I'm not sure if it was the plot or characters but it wasn't my favorite.

The GoodReads summary....
Sam Cooper (“Coop”) has just become the most eligible bachelor in New York City. After foiling a jewelry store robbery, and being rewarded with the ring of his choice, single women all over the city are fawning over the crime reporter. But Coop isn’t interested in the admirers sending racy underwear his way. His attention is centered solely on Lexie Davis, the only woman in the city who claims not to be interested in his bachelor status.

Love Me If You Dare
Carly Phillips
This is the second in the series so I HAD to read it to see if I liked it any better than the first. I hate to say I didn't enjoy it any better. It was just ok.

The GoodReads summary...

When hostage negotiator Rafe Mancuso takes a bullet to save Sara Rios, his former partner, his actions make him a bona fide hero—and New York City's newest most eligible bachelor. Then Rafe admits that Sara is much more than just another woman he's rescued. Suddenly, a firestorm of gossip turns him into exactly what he doesn't want to be: the Bachelor Blog's newest hot topic. His only solution is to leave town and get himself out of the spotlight…and sexy, jaded Sara out of his mind.

The Mermaid Chair
Sue Monk Kidd
This is one of the books my high school friend picked out for me to read. I would have never picked this one up. I was interested the entire book and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The GoodReads summary...
Sue Monk Kidd's phenomenal debut, The Secret Life of Bees, became a runaway bestseller that is still on the New York Timesbestseller list more than two years after its paperback publication. Now, in her luminous new novel, Kidd has woven a transcendent tale that will thrill her legion of fans. Telling the story of Jessie Sullivan -- a love story between a woman and a monk, a woman and her husband, and ultimately a woman and her own soul -- Kidd charts a journey of awakening and self-discovery illuminated with a brilliance that only a writer of her ability could conjure.

The Rumor
Elin Hilderbrand

Elin Hilderbrand writes awesome books. They are always fun to read. This is the 2nd book I've read out the the 20 from my local bookstore. It was super!

Here's the GoodReads summary...
Madeline King and Grace Pancik are best friends and the envy of Nantucket for their perfect marriages, their beautiful kids, their Sunday night double dates with their devoted husbands. But this summer, something's changed, and if there's anything Nantucket likes better than cocktails on the beach at sunset, it's a good rumor.

And rumor has it...

I can't wait to get some recommendations from everyone. Thanks for the awesome link up ladies!
