Friday Favorites and July's Reads

NINE!!!

I still can't believe I read 9 books this past month. I guess that's what happens when you are sitting in the hospital and you go on vacation! My mom had back surgery so I was with her at the hospital and I stayed with her when she went home. That means LOTS of reading while she was sleeping.

The Honeymooners
Christina Lauren

I LOVED the first book I read by Christina Lauren (Love and other Words) and this one was almost as good.  The Honeymooners was a fun book to read.

One More Moment
Samantha Chase

Honestly I had to go back to GoodReads to see what this book was about. It was a cute book and I liked it but it just didn't stand out in my mind.

Big Little Lies
Liane Moriarty

This is the second time attempt at reading this and I liked it this time! It took a few chapters but I finally got into in and enjoyed it. It had me wanting to know what happened and who did what!

Fix Her Up
Tessa Bailey

I've always heard don't judge a book by its cover and it was very true for this book! I thought it would be a sweet story and it really was with some raunchiness added in. Overall it was a good read!

Summer Nights
Susan Mallery

Summer Nights was another feel good book. All of Susan's books are good! I've never read one that I didn't like. I want to visit every town in her books. Haha!!

Her Secret Son
Hannah Mary McKinnon

I've read ALL the hype about this book and it didn't disappoint! I was shocked at the end and it was very interesting! Like one of my favorites so far this year! I can't wait to read her other book, The Neighbors!

Meet Cute
Helena Hunting

Meet Cute was very similar to The Hating Game and I LOVED The Hating Game. I liked everything about this book. It's probably one of my top books so far this year as well!!

One Day in December
Josie Silver

I was super excited to finally get this book. BUT... I just didn't like it. I wanted to hurry up and finish it. The characters needed a fire lit under their tushes to get things going!

How to Walk Away
Katherine Center

I got this book from the library in hopes of liking it. I didn't get my hopes up. After reading a few chapters I was hooked. I enjoyed every bit of it!

What's Up Wednesday

 -WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK-

I have not been planning my meals like before because everything is so hectic right now. We've been eating quick and easy stuff like tacos, hot dogs and anything on the grill!

-WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT-

Vacations!

We love the beach but we really love the mountains. The cooler weather and the views are the best.

-WHAT I'M LOVING-

Hanging out with my boys. They are at the best ages - even though they complain about summer reading.

-WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO-

We've been on the go constantly!

We've had church activities, vacations and we have been helping my mom(she had back surgery).

Now my boys want a walker for Christmas! Ha! They sit on it, push each other on it and they love walking around her house with it. And she's happy because she is using the walker less and less! Now if the nerve pain would go away she'd be a lot better!

-WHAT I'M DREADING-

Although I'm so ready to have a schedule I'm DREADING school starting back. Especially the lunch packing, the early mornings and the homework!

My boys dreaded summer reading and taking the AR tests at the middle school but we did it!!

-WHAT I'M WORKING ON-

I've been reading. Probably WAY too much. I need to start working on cleaning out the boys clothes and making sure they have plenty of school clothes that fit!

-WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT-

To have a schedule!! To plan my meals and get my grocery shopping done in peace. And that means in the mornings before the crazies get out.

I also found the perfect material for my porch chairs. I love sitting on my porch looking at them!

-WHAT I'M WATCHING/READING-

I really do not watch much television any more. Jackson and I watch Live PD and Dr. Pimple Popper and that's about it.
Reading is a different story. I read A LOT of books this past month. I'll have them posted tomorrow...I hope!

-WHAT I'M LISTENING TO-

Whatever my boys are doing or watching or playing.

-WHAT I'M WEARING-

Mostly my summer mom uniform. Shorts and tanks. It's TOO dang hot in SC to wear anything else. I do wear my rompers and maxi dresses a few times a week as well. I'm not a COMPLETE slob! Haha!

-WHAT I'M DOING THIS WEEKEND-

We have NOTHING planned. I'll probably do some porch sitting! And I'll help my mom with her meals and head to church on Sunday.

-WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH-

Hello August!

Where did July go? School starts in a few weeks and that's always exciting. But we will try to do some of this...

And this before school starts...

And yeah...this water park is in our town. We finally went and it was so fun! The weekends are slammed but the week days are awesome (especially late afternoons). That's Michael in the middle of Miles and Carter. He had as much fun as they did on the slides. I enjoyed the lazy river! Haha!!

-WHAT ELSE IS NEW-

Nothing that I can think of right now.
