A huge mess and a baby shower

This past week has been a complete mess. It started out last week clearing the dining room and popping up the old hardwood floors. I lived with every type of rug and towel covering the plywood so Jackson would not get a huge splinter in his foot. Next came clearing everything from our bedroom and den. Who knew I had so much "stuff" aka "junk"? Next Michael and his dad ripped out all of the carpet. Lucky for me I got to pull down wallpaper which believe it or not I actually loved doing! In the middle of all of this we notice our dishwasher was leaking and it has ruined our kitchen floor. Fun, Fun, Fun! Now we have to deal with the insurance company as well as pick out new tile for the kitchen.
Jackson has had an absolute blast during all of this. He is getting spoiled ROTTEN by Boom and Pops - Michael's parents. We have moved in with them until our house is repaired! Thank goodness for parents! They have let us stay with them, washed our clothes and fed us! Heck- after all of this we may not want to move back home!
This past Saturday we had a baby shower for our friends John and Joy. They are going to welcome their second daughter this week. Congrats John and Joy! Here's a picture of three of the four kids. Baby Jake was in the exersauser. When they are ages 3, 2 and 16 months it is very hard to get a good picture of all of them! Adam and Denise had the jumping castle up for them. It was a huge hit! Thanks for such a good time!

Are there some sort of Child Labor Law in SC? Luckily my mom rescued Jackson this day! Poor guy missed all of the fun!

Don't worry - we put him to work later in the week!

A boy and his box

Hanging out in a box chewing on an ice cream scoop. What more could you want to do? For some reason, Jackson LOVES getting in boxes and I love to watch him get into boxes. It's fun seeing him figure out new things.

I promise he did have dinner!
Did the paper taste good, Jackson?

I guess not!

Emilee Grace's Party

We went to Emilee Grace's 3rd birthday party Saturday at the Playzone. Once again, Jackson had a blast! He took off running and didn't look back. I think his favorite was the swings but the balls were a close second. We were glad he fell asleep on the way home and took a 3 hour nap! Our little fellow played hard! Thanks Emilee Grace for the great party!

Emma's Party

This was the first birthday party of the week for Jackson. As soon as we walked in the Playzone he ran straight to the toys and didn't even look back to see if I was there. He had lots of fun at Emma's first birthday party!

The reason the clubhouse is gone...

That's right. Jackson thought it was time to start eating it! Needless to say, the clubhouse made it's way into the garage for now!

15 months old

Here are several pictures from this afternoon.

If Jackson is in his crib he wants his "bankie". He loves to snuggle with it while he is sleeping! This is right before bath time. He loves to play in his room now! He runs from his new bookcase to the other side of his room with his toys. He also will sit on his "froggie" quilt and look at his books.

And- he still loves his bath!

Each night we read right before bedtime. Some nights we have to read one book but most nights it is at least 3 or 4. He loves his books!

Check out his eye lashes in his shadow!

Jackson's Clubhouse

What would you do with two BIG boxes? Michael decided to make Jackson a "clubhouse". I have not figured out who likes playing in it more - Jackson or Michael! This was this past Sunday morning. Poor little fellow was sick with RSV and didn't feel like playing much but he still crawled into his house to peek out of the window. I'm not sure why he had a spoon with him. He really likes playing with strange items these days. You never know what you may see him holding in a picture!
Still playing around his house with a new toy in hand!

I did catch the two of them in there at the same time! Please notice that Michael had to remodel the house. The opening to the second box was not tall enough for Jackson to walk thru so it had to be enlarged. Also, the front windows are now the same size. I think I have two little boys instead of one!

The Second Snow

These pictures are from a couple of weeks ago. I've been slack about downloading the pictures from my camera. Jackson didn't mind the snow the second time around! We were not able to play outside this time because Michael and I had to go to work. Our back yard was so pretty.

I tried to get Jackson excited about the snow but Blues Clues was on television.

He did look out of the door for a minute.

Jackson had fun on the ride to daycare.

Do you see a trend here?

This is what Jackson did after we finished dinner and took his spaghetti soaked clothes off. Our little boy loved to climb over the chairs and play underneath the table. He is going to be really good when it's time to do an obstacle course!

SPAGHETTI ANYONE?

We found out this past weekend that Jackson LOVES spaghetti. He ate a huge plateful Saturday night. I could not get it to him fast enough. Here he is eating leftovers.
Yes, that's a fork he is holding. He is a BIG boy now and likes to eat with a fork. He thinks it is a game to get the green beans on the fork. He really gets into feeding himself these days.

We had to strip Jackson down to his diaper and socks after he attempted to feed himself the spaghetti. He thought it was funny to run around the house playing just about naked!

Who needs toys when you have a table?

For the past few weeks, Jackson has liked to play under the table. He loves to climb on/over/around anything. If it is in his way he will find a way to get around it. He usually gets a lid to a tupperware container to take under the table with him but this day he had a new "toy." He was playing in (emptying) his diaper bag and found the container of teething tablets. He will chew on anything he can get his mouth on! You never know where you will find him and what he will be playing with when you come into our house!

Can you tell who likes the tub?
